Prashant Tamang:
A 22-year-old policeman from Darjeeling, who is one of the contestants in the popular 'Indian Idol' show hosted by Sony television channel, has become the new icon for the Nepalese diaspora with Indian viewers of Nepalese origin whipping up a campaign to boost his chances.

he has fabulous voice.... brought tears into my eyes and I still dont know why I cried....
Nepalese ppls should think seriously for some nepalese song with prashants voice....

We don't have any give or take with Prashant Tamang. After all, they are no longer nepalis.

Cocaine, I despair when I read your post. Prashant Tamang is a Nepali. Just because a person of Nepali origin does not live in Nepal does not cease to be a Nepali. There are millions of Nepalese outside of Nepal.

Cocaine... well for me ... I can understand the life style of nepalese people... the problems we have... the struggle we make... the frustration ... and what not... just because prashant lives next to Nepal... and he is proud to present himself as nepalese... is not only the reason for me to like him... its for those struggle...and the gut to face challenges... that took my heart.. Maybe if I had known a close view with some other contestant then who knows I might have equally liked them too...
As for being Nepali or Indian is concern .... I dont care much about it... for me they are equal. Just lack of information or my imagination of the struggle they are making... might have impact on me... for me there are no looser in that show... everyone is good singer and they are all winner

Nepaliness is nothing to do with the colour of your passport - it is our origin, our ancestry, our foundation and our cultural background.
Let's support a Nepali in the Indian Idol. Keep our fingers crossed for his success. He is already a winner.

Hi,
We should not differentiate people by their community or by other things. just live in being and never differ anything. we are not borned to do that.
Nepali/non-Nepali why this feeling in us? what kind of educated we are? is this what left by our purkha.
I would requist to Mail Admin also regarding such comment (like COCOAINS has posted). This kind of people should be strictly warned and if necessary prosicuted.

Hold on!!!... Everybody has right to speak here.... Maybe his thoughts differe than yours.. Learn to respect peoples.... if someone doesnt have same view than yours that doesnt mean that you are allowed to write lines like "This kind of people should be strictly warned and if necessary prosicuted"... Guy grow up... you are just showing your disgusting personality over here...and the envrionment you have been raised... there is still time to learn and respect peoples.... before you become a complete thrash... so leave your tyranny attitude and learn to be friendly.

Hi all,
I felt like Prashant is loosing melody and clarity in his voice a bit in his last 2 week's performances compared to the past performances....could be either because he is sick or he is already content from being on the top 12 or feeling nervous from the tremendous pressure of the competition! Common Prashant....please don't give up, try harder and you will reach the summit! Wish you all the best!

Agreed with admin... he should be more cafeful while choosing his song... and aim high..his last few performance was not as good ... and as judge said ... he should remember that its not the campus function ... but talent show... Then again ... anyone can be eliminated from now on...

I agree with both of you. I respect your thoughts but....but... i bileave you have not read the commnets given by "Cocain". if its the matter of respecting a thought like this then extremly sorry dude i cant.
i am not saying neither any of these above comments say that we should vote for Prashant. we mean lets respect the telent. lets encaurage to all contestent to give their best. and as far as my comment "This kind of people should be strictly warned and if necessary prosicuted" is concerned this was just to avoid misuse of this facility who assumes he can post anything he wishes. And plz mind one thing, predicting someones personality or the enviroment where one growen shows nothing but defines your personality. sorry to your thought. What....? how you.....? where...? who....?
